| Thomas Greenaway of Greenaway Mosaics is a traditionally trained craftsman in the art of pietra dura and operates from his workshop in South Northamptonshire.
He was initially trained at The Chippendale International School of Furniture before studying the traditional skills of pietra dura in Florence, Italy during a four year period.
We currently are making bespoke tabletops, panels that can be displayed as pictures, boxes and paperweights; we carry out restoration work to pietra dura and artefacts veneered with stone; we also import and sell pietra dura and other stone products which can if required be personalised by us for our clients.
Enquiries for our work mainly come from personal recommendation. When practical we visit the potential client, unless they want to visit our workshop to discuss their requirements. Without charge we prepare a detailed brief, provide a quotation with our terms and conditions and the appropriate artwork as a rough sketch. If the client then wishes us to proceed we require a deposit and then detailed artwork will be prepared for the client’s approval.
Delivery of the finished goods for large items is included in the cost within a 50 mile radius of our workshop.
